When I first heard the song "Voodoo Chile", it was from a Stevie Ray Vaughan album. From then on I was a huge fan of SRV and would tell everyone how awesome his "Voodoo Chile" track is, until
a friend of mine told me that it was a good cover of the original by Jimi Hendrix lol. So I looked up Jimi on limewire and started listening to Purple Haze, Foxey Lady, Kiss the Sky etc...
Oh boy must I say that Hendrix is definitely one of the best guitarists ever and has raised guitar riffs to a new level! I'm no guitar expert but I believe Hendrix was one of the few who popularized
the "WAH" pedal, just listen to "Voodoo Chile".
Now you see Hendrix in almost all men graphic tee sections in target lol.
I based this piece on Hendrix's Woodstock '69 performance, the best ever!
This will be featured as part of my "27 Club" theme for the "Young Guns of Print" show at Hero Complex Gallery this Friday, September 8, 2013.
