Good morning friends! This piece was featured last night at Hero Complex gallery's "King for a day", an art tribute to author Stephen King's masterpieces!
I chose to go with "The Green Mile", along with "Shawshank Redemption" these are my favorite works by Stephen King and among the best movies of all time!
Stylistic wise this piece looks a little different from my usual work, concept wise, with less clutter and splatter. This time I tried
to make better use of the environment, played around more with perspecitve to perfectly capture the scene where John Coffey(Michael Clarke Duncan)
is being escorted to his prison cell. The linework is still the same but a solid / more clean shading was used in order to fit the requirements for
silkscreening / screenprint. With a limited color palette, only three colors and a mint starch french paper was used here.
Quite the challenge but I'm glad I did it and I'll be doing more of these types this year. Gotta keep things FRESH! ha!
For those who haven't seen this movie and wondering what's a mouse doing there, just go watch it first lol
